These Boots Are Made For Walkin'

Look what just swam across the entire Atlantic Ocean just to get to my house! Thank you so much Kate! (I won her second drawing for leftover shoes) Some of these little gems have already been fussy cut and set in batik square in squares, some are just little squares, and some are fair sized chunks of fabric. I don't know exactly how these will get assembled, but the prints are all just so darling I'll have to make something really eye grabbing with them. They'll have to go directly to my design wall so I can mull it over as I pass by.

In completely unrelated news, I got a little jealous seeing what everyone did with their quiltathon time over the weekend. I couldn't really participate because the timing was just wrong for me. As it turns out however, I got to spend the entire day today in my sewing room so I've made real progress on cutting out bits for a quilt I have had in the planning stages for about four years now. It was supposed to be a gift for my stepmother's birthday back in 04 or 05. I'm very lucky indeed that she is a forgiving woman (she sews too!) It looks like it won't be in time for her birthday this year either, but I'm thinking it'll get wrapped up pretty and tied with a bow and sent off to her no matter what time of year it gets finished!
