Just For Fun

Sometimes I don't make Serious Quilts. Sometimes I make something just for fun; something I know won't become an heirloom, won't save a sick child, won't win a prize at the show. This time I made a very small wall hanging that reminds me of my step-mother's canning closet in their basement. It isn't a fancy room or anything. In fact, I think it was originally just a utility closet. My SM keeps the jars of things from her garden that she's canned in there. I love to step in and look at all of it. She makes the best blueberry jam in the whole world and every year she sends me some of the current batch in my christmas box.

This little project was so much fun to make I thought I'd share. There's a pocket on top and a long pocket on the bottom for recipe cards or seed packets or whatever, but it wouldn't matter if they never get used. After all, it's just for fun!

  3. Well I guess I don't know what makes a "worthy" quilt or not because I think it is fantastic! Makes me want to do some canning.
