Keeping Busy

I've been working hard on a few quilts that will be in a local show. This particular quilt is a whole cloth. The focus is a reef scene in a shell frame. I agonized for days over what kind of background fill to use and finally decided the only thing that I would be able to execute well was stippling. I swear to you I very nearly went with writing "background fill background fill background fill" all over it. I think the stippling works better.

When all four of the quilts have been safely delivered to the show's minders, I'll resume normal posting and such.

  3. Nice job on the stippling. I have so much trouble getting my tension right on free motion, but yours looks perfect!

  4. really gorgeous! I had not thought of writing as a fill pattern but it would work wouldn't it? I think you are right that the stippling works.
