I've been working hard on a few quilts that will be in a local show. This particular quilt is a whole cloth. The focus is a reef scene in a shell frame. I agonized for days over what kind of background fill to use and finally decided the only thing that I would be able to execute well was stippling. I swear to you I very nearly went with writing "background fill background fill background fill" all over it. I think the stippling works better.
When all four of the quilts have been safely delivered to the show's minders, I'll resume normal posting and such.

ReplyDeleteNice job on the stippling. I have so much trouble getting my tension right on free motion, but yours looks perfect!
ReplyDeletereally gorgeous! I had not thought of writing as a fill pattern but it would work wouldn't it? I think you are right that the stippling works.
