Hello Fall Blog Hop

Hello Fall!  Hello bloghoppers!  Welcome to the Hello Fall Blog Hop!  You can go to the main page by clicking the button below:

Much as I love summer in Texas, I do enjoy the beginnings of a cool breeze come autumn.  Sadly that doesn't really kick in around here until next month.  September is usually a pretty darned warm month, full of very bright sunshine with all the neighborhood lawn sprinklers still in full flow.  So when Carla of Create in the Sticks announced her Hello Fall blog hop a month or so ago, I leaped on it with my recent finish, September Sunshine.

All those orange and yellow fabrics really wanted to be crammed together every which way.

I've also been working on these easy pumpkin coasters to give to friends.  It was fun to use a bunch of homespuns in fall colors and I love the raggedy edges.

Still in the works for fall is my first attempt at crumble applique.  I like it, but it still needs a lot of work.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope all your fall projects turn out just the way you want them to.

Go check out the other bloggers' posts in the hop, you'll love what you see!  I've put links to their blogs below.

The Respect It Deserves

My friend who is a quilter also makes gorgeous ceramics.  I regularly snatch works of art out of her trash can.  For my birthday she made me this amazing bowl.  It's deeper than the average bowl and the sides are a bit steeper, making it both fabulous to hold and far more useful when loading stuff on top of a scoop of ice cream.

Here it is being treated with the respect it deserves:

They Grow So Fast!

Farrah Welch Photography

Have you ever wished everyone else could see what you see instead of what you're able to photograph?  Go see Farrah.  She's not just a really good photographer, she's also very creative and sensitive to the beauty of each subject.

She has been in the graphic arts for several years so she brings an amazing talent to the table, turning out very professional finished photos.

eine kleine helles Nähen

It isn't quilting really, but it did use up a bit of my stash.  :)  I just need to do something ELSE once in a while so I made one of these wallets.  I've had the pattern so long I can't remember who made it.  A cursory search of the internet didn't yield anything.  If any of you remember who made the original pattern let me know so I can apply proper credit.

FOUND IT!  Lazy Girls Designs Wonder Wallet!

Seems like it was referred to as having a magic coin pocket.  Yah, bad memory.  The whole thing goes together in less than 30 minutes from fabric selection to adding credit cards and coin.

New Quilty Friend

I have a new quilty friend. This is Pointy Kitty. I made it from a pattern on the Wee Wonderfuls website. This kitty doesn't shed or meow for breakfast an hour before dawn. Everyone should have one.
