For June Sharon invites us to tell of stories that are and stories that could be. She has chosen a color palette based on a collection of old sinks from a photo.

Take it Further April
This month SharonB asks us how we see change - is it a good thing or bad?
I know my answer, but not how I'll express it yet. I do know I'll be using these colors:

Noticing Little Stuff
I'm still getting the hang of hand work. Mostly I'm just too darned impatient. Eventually I'll get around to working in more detail on the leaves in the top, and maybe some background detail.
At any rate, here's my finished Take It Further Challenge piece for March. It was fun to work on and it grossed out my youngest DD because she's no real fan of bugs.
You can see all the inventive things people have crafted for this month's challenge HERE.
I'm ready for April. Bring it on, SharonB!

Work In Progress
Just a teaser. This picture is taken with the zoom function on my camera. The hemp-like open weave is really a very fine batiked cotton fabric. I further note that the colors seem washed out compared to real life. This is a small part of my March Take it Further Challenge piece.

Take it Further February

(click image to go to sharonb's TIF weblog)
Sharon announced the challenge for February a few days ago, but my mind (as usual!) was elsewhere so I merely catalogued the information. I have chewed on this one since last night and am still drawing blanks. I want to continue to combine both the palette and the theme each month, and this palette will be easy, but the theme! I cannot for the life of me get a grip on the theme! I was born in '61 and my earliest memories are of the Kennedy assassination, the Beatles, Nancy Sinatra, reading funnies with my dad, snow angels and my very frisky dog, Raspy (short for Rasputin if you can believe that). What the..? How do I make all that mush together into a coherent work?

Take It Further (January)
January's challenge was to use this color palette or focus on someone we admire. I chose to do both. I'm not super happy with the way it turned out, but the fault is entirely mine. I didn't spend as much time on the hand sewing as i should have to get all the detail out. It was my first time to work with fusible applique on anything other than a blue jeans patch though so I count it a success.
Congratulations Gwen for guessing right when she was still in pieces.
February's challenge has been announced. You can see it here. I'll post something as soon as I've come up with an idea.

Take it Further (and further and further)
Phew! I thought I'd be sewing last night. All I did was glue up. Today I'll start sewing though.
Any more guesses?
